Water is not flowing from the stem of the ice preventer.
Here are some things to try:
- Do you have water pressure? If not, check your water source.
- Is your flow control valve closed? If not, open the valve.
- Did you adjust the cone too tight? Try turning the cone counter-clockwise.
- Is your stem hole clogged or plugged up? If so, clean it with a wire or air pressure.
- Is the piston stuck down on the seat? If so, free it up and lubricate the piston.
Water won’t shut off on the ice preventer.
Here are some things to try:
- Is the adjusting cone tight enough? Try turning the cone clockwise.
- Is there foreign material between the piston end and seat in the stem body? If so, clean and lubricate.
- Is the sensing tube or power element damaged? If so, that element needs to be replaced.
- Is there foreign material between the needle and needle seat on the flow control valve? If so, clean the area, readjust, and check the seat for wear. If necessary, replace seat body.
- Is the water flow from the stem not consistent? The packing unit nut on the flow control valve needs to be tightened so the needle will not creep or move.
